Our beginning started in May year 2000 when an independent television producer sat next to an environmental attorney on an airplane in route to Washington D.C. Together they began a discussion surrounding the many contributing factors in respect to poor air quality in the United States. Shortly there after they went on to build a small independent non profit media company calling themselves GreenVision TV. The group’s motivation was to build half hour TV ready videos for environmental organizations helping to improve issues of global concern in respect to air, water, energy and biodiversity. GreenVision’s initial pilot featured the efforts of the grassroots group, HealthLink in Massachusetts which helped organize communities to clean up local power plant pollution and joined in a national coalition’s campaign to require old coal and oil burning plants to meet modern pollution control standards. The film was used in a national televised fundraising telethon -airing to over eleven million households via The Dish Network. Additionally the producers were photographed in Time Magazine. |
